Øster Hurup is a small holiday town in northern Jutland. Located on the Aalborg
Bugt, the port town is a popular destination for a holiday in Denmark.

Child-friendly beaches and beautiful nature.

Øster Hurup is surrounded by water: the calm waves of Kattegat on one side and
Mariager Fjord on the other. The water here remains shallow for a long time:
ideal for a beach day with (small) children.

Especially during the summer months, Øster Hurup’s harbour is a cosy place full
of terraces, fresh fish and beautiful views over the water. In the second half of
August, the port is also home to the Øster Hurup Regatta.

Øster Hurup borders Lille Vildmose, a nature reserve of some 7,600 hectares. Here
you can cycle and walk endlessly along marshes and lakes. From the hills west
of Lille Vildmose, you also have great views of the nature reserve.

A day trip from Øster Hurup? With both Aalborg (45 km) and Randers (55 km)
nearby, there are plenty of possibilities. Indispensable anyway are Aalborg Zoo
and the Randers rainforest (Randers Regnskov).
